Secondary Root Server

Hi,

Our environment consists of a root server connected to a Always-On SQL server.
i know there were some old posts (over 10 years ago) about a secondary root server (an option which did not exist) and i was wondering if anything changed since then.
just to be clear - i am not interested in DSA, but a secondary ROOT server that connects to a remote DB.

You can only have a single root server. What issue are you trying to solve with a secondary one?

We are currently planning a second, Active-Active datacenter (as opposed to Active-Standby we have now) and we are at the design phase. just wanted to know my options.
