SCM dashboard not loading

(imported topic written by menke123491)

I’m having a problem where the “Security Configuration Management” dashboard is not visible as an option under the Dashboards menu. The other dashboards, e.g. Power Tracking, are fine. I’m a Master Operator and the fixlets are not hidden. It was working for quite a while, but the when originally configured, the “SCM Checklist for DISA STIG” for Sol9/Sol10/Win2k3 sites were subscribed to ‘all clients’. I changed each of those three to subscribe only for the relevant OSs as documented in the .pdf. The SCM dashboard item then seemed to be only intermittantly available. I then changed them back to subscribed for ‘all clients’. The SCM dashboard item is apparently unavailable 100% of the time now. I’ve also (backed up) and deleted all custom fixlets/tasks that use SCM metatags. Same problem. Something I’m missing?

Hi Menke,

Your console needs to be at least version 7.0.9.164 or the dashboard won’t show up. This is first 7.0.9 release build. Is your console a high enough version?

My console is 7.0.9.110. Interesting. Are you saying 7.0.9.164 was the first 7.0.9 release build? If so, I wonder where my build came from? It’s also interesting that the SCM dashboard was fine for a couple months. In any event, I won’t sweat it until I get a new version (which coincidentally should be in a few days). Thanks for your help.

The SMCC Deployment Guide lists the following requirements-

Minimum supported browser versions:

  • IE 6.0

  • Firefox 2.0

Minimum Adobe Flash player version:

  • Flash Player 9.0

Minimum BigFix component versions:

  • Console 7.0.9

  • Web Reports 7.0.9

  • Windows Client 7.0.9.164

  • Unix Client 7.0.2

My BES client version is 7.0.9.164 and my console version is 7.0.9.110. I interpret that to mean I’m ok. Is that your understanding or is the doc incorrect and I need a newer console?

Thanks.

Hi Menke,

The change to restrict to the 164 release was pushed out a few days ago (along with some performance enhancements and bug fixes for the dashboard). This explains why you saw the change in behavior only recently.

However, you are correct… build 110 was in fact the first 7.0.9 release so I’ll go back and revert the change to make 110 the minimum. Sorry for the mistake. It should be corrected shortly.
