We would like to be able to run certains tasks periodically via BigFix. For example, we would like to run a task that will clear the Dfs cache every morning on all computers. We can write a BF task to clear the Dfs cache, and deploy to computers on-demand, but are unsure how to schedule it to run periodically. Is this presently supported? If so, how? If not, can support be added for this in the future?
Another thing that would be ideal is a command-line interface to deploy tasks. We could then trigger a task using the command-line interface, and use our own scheduler of choice to call the command periodically. Can we get this as a resource-kit tool?
In BES 6.0, if you take an action and look on the “Execution Tab”, you will see that you can reapply the action and “Wait 1 day between attempts”. This will allow you to do general purpose scheduling (and you can use the constraints tab to make it only occur at certain times or certain days of the week).
