I’m trying to schedule the computers in my site to shutdown every evening. However when I do this, if a computer is off at the time it is supposed to run, it will simply run once the computer is turned on in the morning. What do I need to do to have a recurring shutdown that only can occur at a specific time.
I think the best way to do this is to use the “Run between” settings to prevent the shutdown task from running outside the overnight hours. See screenshot attached.
Without knowing anything about your environment or the context of your question, I would be hesitant to shut down computers every evening. Do end users remain logged on when the computers aren’t in use? Is there a chance they’d have unsaved files open? Assuming you’re looking to save energy, putting computers into (S3) standby would provide very similar energy savings and could result in a better end user experience. We don’t like to deal with ticked off users
