Has anyone installed SCA on 2012? I am surprised to see it only lists 2008 as an option…

Hello,

It’s mainly the installer that has issues with 2012 2012 R2. This will be fixed in the next release (SCA 1.6), sorry for the inconvenience.

My mistake, a correction: It specifically doesn’t support 2012 R2, 2012 should work.

The estimated time frame for 1.6 is end of February or March, but this is very subject to change.

I asked around and there is a workaround for installing 1.5 on 2012 R2 if you wish to do so:

  1. extract TEMA SCA installation package
  2. Navigate directory path into extracted package folder under …\server\parts\CDROM_Installers\Disk1\InstData\Win32\VM
  3. right mouse click on tema.exe file to show context menu
  4. in the context menu, select “Troubleshoot compatibility”

The problem with the installer was that it didn’t properly recognize 2012 R2, so if you run in compatibility mode for a different OS it’ll work.
