We upgraded a farm server to 4.5. Now the BigFix console hangs when using the software wizard to create a new package. Any idea why this is happening? It works with PS 4.0?

Additional info on this issue. The console works if you remote into the server, so the installation works fine. Only fails when accessing the application via the ICA client. Even when accessing with a user that has full administrator rights to the server, the console fails, hanging right when the package starts to upload. You never get the status window for the upload. Hangs at that point. No errors on the server.
As stated, this same installation worked with Presentation Server 4.0. Anyone?

Hmmm… I haven’t heard of this before… Is there anything special that 4.5 does differently than 4.0 in terms of IE permissions or displaying pop-up windows?

So that’s an IE window that pops up giving the status of the upload?

The upload progress window isn’t an IE window itself, but the interaction between the software distribution wizard and the console to initiate the upload relies on IE. So an issue in IE could cause the problem he’s describing. Getting a dump file would tell us what’s going on. The easiest way to do that would be to download procdump from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/dd996900.aspx and then run “procdump BESConsole.exe c:\BESConsole.dmp” while the console is hung. You can then post the dump file or send it to me.

OK, I took these dumps while it was hung. I hope they are useful.
Here’s #1.
Doesn’t seem to be attaching. I’ll send via email.
