Right-click customizations from Citrix published TEM Console

(imported topic written by jeko1791)

Hi,

I have been playing with some custom right-click cuztomizations in the 8.2 TEM Console. All were working fine from the TEM Console on our TEM Server. When I installed TEM Console on our Citrix server, I was sure to re-create the

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BigFix\Enterprise Console\Settings\ComputerListContextMenuExtensions

keys and even incldued these keys in a login script for the Citrix server so anyone logging into Citrix would get them. A couple of the right-clicks won’t work from the Citrix presented TEM Console, while most do. Our Citrix server is a Win2003 server so it uses the 2003 version of MMC, the right-click for Computer MAnagement works, Ping works. However Remote Desktop does not work, giving me an error “Not all of the selected Computers were able to run the selected action.” I only right-clicked one Computer to run Remote Desktop on and I tried modifying the ComputerApplicabilityRelevance and ShellCommandRelevance to remove or simplify (“true”) the session relevance and hard code an IP and it still didn’t work. I can only think the Citrix server deosn’t know how to get to the mstsc.exe but it is in the system PATH just like cmd.exe, mmc.exe and those right-clicks work fine through Citrix presented TEM Console.

Any ideas?

OK, figured out part of my issue. For whatever reason, (maybe permissions) Citrix wouldn’t let me run the putty.exe and mstsc.exe utilities out of the %systemroot%\system32 folder. Once I moved them to the TEM Console application folder (where iterate.bat, etc are located) they worked fine. Last remaining issue is this.

I can launch the TEM Client Deploy Tool from a network share just fine with a right click customization, but I cannot launch the BES *NIX Client Installer from the same share, different folder. It thinks about it then nothing, no error, no pop-up, nothing. Is there a software pre-requisite for the *NIX Installer GUI that’s not needed for the TEM Client Deploy Tool GUI?
