Restart Needed

(imported topic written by Edj)

Other than using the registry entry “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations” and the “Action Requires Restart” flag set by BigFix, does anyone know what other criteria that BES would use to determine if a system restart is required.

Thanks for any assistance,

Hey Edj,

Actually we use the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations” value (not the “ControlSet001” key).

On Win9x, this registry key doesn’t exist and there is instead a value in a .ini file somewhere.

Those are the only places we look.
