Resetting BESAdmin password

What is the best method of resetting a BESAdmin password?

Was the password lost?

The password used in BESAdmin is the private encryption key password. For long-term recovery, your best bet is to ‘escrow’ a copy of the private and public keys, along with a known password to decrypt the key. Those should be preserved on long-term media such as magnetic tape, or even better, printed out and stored securely (safe, safety deposit box, something like that.)

If your site signing key is lost, or it’s password cannot be retrieved, you no longer have control over your deployment. These cannot be recovered and are not known to IBM. You can contact Support to get a new license authorization file, but you’ll need to rebuild your infrastructure on a new server and then use a ‘masthead switch’ operation to move your endpoints from your existing deployment into the new one.
