Question on BES Client actions

(imported topic written by unruem)

I have a question on BES Client actions after disconnecting from a network.

We have laptops that we target fixlets and actions to them while on the network, and they receive and check into the BES server, but then the customer disconnects that laptop from the network during the scheduled time of execution, will those fixlets and actions still run if the customer leaves the laptop turned on, say at home? I know the BES Console will not update the status of actions until they can connect to the network again and check in the BES Server, but I just want to know if the actions will still run.

Thanks!

Yes, the client will continue to maintain policies when disconnected.

However, if the policy contains a download then the client must be able to find a relay for the download to succeed. The common solution is to put a relay in your DMZ.
