I have a property that displays the current version of the virus software. It displays for a majority of the machines, but some are showing up as not reported on that particular. The box is online and everything else is reporting correctly. About 15% of the boxes are doing this.
You should try right-clicking the computers in the BES Console and select ‘Force Refresh’ (only need to do this once!).
If they still don’t update, you may have a BES Relay that is failing to gather the latest version of the actionsite where your property definition lives. So the BES Clients are synchronizing with the BES Relay but the BES Relay hasn’t synchronized. If all these computers are using the same BES Relay that would be a good indication that the problem is with the BES Relay.
The only times I have run into this is if the relay is hung (very seldom) or the firewall is blocking communication. If this is the case there is a task/fixlet within Bigfix also to open up the ports.
I’ve also run into this when I wrote custom retrieved properties that had code in it that was dependent of version 6+ of the Bigfix client.
Since migrating our SQL database to a different server than the BF server, we have had a number of clients reporting in with fields “not reporting”. Sending a refresh has no effect. Any ideas?
