Prompt for authentication password when taking an action

(imported topic written by khouck)

In my current BigFix deployment, we are not prompting for a password when an action is taken. However, it has been asked that we change that. I have spent the better part of the day looking for the step(s) to do this, but have been unable to find it. Can someone point me to where that information is?

We are running Tivoli Endpoint Manager 8.2.1312.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Add the following in the advanced section of the Admin tool:

LoginTimeoutSeconds=0

Thanks, Jimmie.jones…that is exactly what I needed.

we just upgraded to version 9.0.649.0. We have the value
LoginTimeoutSeconds=0 set, but it doesn’t seem to work for users that launched the v9 console and checked the box “User Windows session credentials”.

did something change in the v9 console? I want to always prompt for credentials after taking an action.

Any update on cstoneba’s issue? I’m having the same issue… I can’t have new console operators accidentally deploying stuff.

IBM Support says this is by design. I disagree, and think that even though Pass through authentication is great, we still need an option to enforce “take action confirmation”.

I’ve submitted an RFE to IBM, please vote for it if you agree:

I did vote for it and I agree completely. I can’t even fathom this not being an option to disable.
