Problems in the update of the 8.0 to 8.1

Hi all

I am updating now BigFix platform TEM version 8.0 to 8.1, and updates the console but when I send the releay fixet of the 8.1 update was giving to as if the update command to display the agent to other teams.

In the console that is reflected in the version 8.0 agents send inventory information but if I send an array or an attribute change in the state is mentioned.

Not that I can be doing wrong.

How many Relays do you have? Is this problem happening on all of them or just one? What does the TEM Diagnostics application say?

I have 486 relay and it happens at all, the meaning of TEM is Tivoli Endpoint Manager is the new name assigned

You need to do some basic troubleshooting and give us more information.

Troubleshooting:

  1. Launch the “Tivoli Endpoint Manager Diagnostics Tool” from the Start Menu (where your Console is installed). Does it report any errors?

  2. Check the “Deployment Overview” and “Deployment Healthchecks” Dashboards in the Console (BigFix Management Domain), do they report any errors?

More Information:

  • Are your Relays all Windows?
  • Are your Relays all running 8.0?
  • Have you upgraded your Server and Console to 8.1? (You need to do this before upgrading Relays.)
  • Have you followed the Upgrade instructions in the Upgrade Fixlets that exist in the BigFix Management Domain?
  • When do you see the “Not Reported” issue? When you try and upgrade the Relays?

Encountered the same problem. Server and Consoles upgraded from 8.0.627.0 to 8.1.551.0 with no problems other than a reboot on the Console Windows XP clients. Server running Win2008R2 and Relays on Win2003

Relays however reported “Not Relevant” on install. Resulted in downloading BESRemove-8.1.551.0.exe and removing the Relays by hand. :frowning: did not enjoy that.

Deployed the Install TEM Relay and Relays installed correctly…

Did not expect to encounter this problem… It would have also been nice if the BESRemove-8.1.551.0.exe utility had a switch command that could be used for removal of the relay… something like -relay , then I could have scripted this… But I would think a Task for Relay Removal!!! is required.

Anyway, all Servers and Clients now running 8.1.x
