Problem task Core Protection Module - Set ActiveUpdate Server Pattern

(imported topic written by JayJay91)

Hi everybody

When I launch the task Core Protection Module - Set ActiveUpdate Server Update Interval Pattern with the Bigfix required parameters, it runs fine the first time and then download the new pattern, but it does not restart again and I keep my old pattern…

any idea?

here are the paramaters that I apply for the task :

This action will never expire.

It will run at any time of day, on any day of the week.

If the action becomes relevant after it has successfully executed, the action will be reapplied as a policy an unlimited number of times.

If the action fails, it will be retried up to 99 times, waiting 1 hour between attempts.

We had the same issue and the fix for us was to add an enviromental/System variable for TZ. See attachment.

The System Variable TZ have to add on which server? bigfix server?

The name of the variable (CST6CDT on your doc) correspond on what? name of bigfix server?

Thanks for your help!

I am sorry I was not more clear. Yes, this variable had to be added on the Big Fix server. The time could not be determined by the ActiveUpdate action, therefore it was failing for us. This was on Server 2008. TZ is a time variable and CST6CDT is for central time. You will have to find the correct variable for your time zone if you are not Central time.

ok thanks, after that change do I have to restart server?

We did not have to restart the server. The variable was added, the activeupdate ran by hand and it was successful.

I have put my system environment variable to CET-1CES (european central).

I have restart the server and I have rebuild my task Core Protection Module - Set ActiveUpdate Server Pattern.

It download the pattern of the day and now I will wait to see if tomorrow it will do the same.

One question is in my head, when I look the details of computer in the completed action of the task (right click and show action info on computer) , I see that the exit code returned is 0. Is it normal?
