I’m still new to BF and don’t fully understand sites and permissions yet. I was wondering if someone on here could give me some advice on how to tackle this situation.
I have 5 different regions, with different administrators in each region: Emea, Latin America, Canada, US, AsiaPac. Let’s say I want the user: “rick” to only be able to see / take actions on computers in canada.
I have set up “location by subnet” so each computer has a location property = to one of the 5 regions above. I created an auto group in the master operator site called “canada” and “assigned user management rights” so he can only see computers in that group.
This works, however, he can also see all the groups created, but they are empty. I want users to be able to create groups, but I don’t want users to see groups they did not create. How do I do this?
Should I create “sites” for each of the 5 regions above? If so, how to I subscribe “location by subnet” computers to their associated sites?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Tom
