Patch Policies - Restart with no relevant patches

Our servers are patched automatically each month with patch policies in BigFIX WebUI.

What would be the best way to update the policy so the clients restart, even if there was no relevant patches installed?

  • Create a blank Fixlet with a default action that performs no actual updates but is relevant to all targeted clients.
  • Add this blank Fixlet to your patch policy.
  • Define the post-restart behavior within the patch policy. Since this Fixlet will always be relevant, it will ensure that the restart action is triggered.
