OSX Full Version Upgrades

This has probably already been asked before but I cannot find a post for it. I was wondering if it was possible to perform full version OSX upgrades on Macs

You should probably ask on the OSD subcategory specifically. I’m not sure if the upgrades are supported via the OSD product or not

In theory you could download the installer and run it. But I don’t think IBM is going to package that as it is not an “update” from Apple.

Which makes sense, as everyone under the OS level would show up as relevant to that task/fixlet and it could cause some major headaches if used incorrectly.

You can do this, but you have to write the content yourself to do an in place upgrade.

@AlanM - I don’t think this is an OSD question, I think it is an in place upgrade question.

Yes, this is possible. We support this but don’t use it very frequently. It runs the standard OS X upgrade process, similar to if it had been manually triggered via the Mac App Store.
