We have HP Elitebooks were deploying images to, previous capture was 23H2 and it was a seamless deploy, but the bigfix client was over a year old and now we’re on 25H2 so it was time to make a new capture.
I managed to finally capture a 25H2 image but something i noticed is that there is this annoying “Why did my PC restart” message and our techs have to hit NEXT 2-6 times before it gets to the desktop and domain joins. You do get a glimpse of the process and see what looks like its attempting an update. This is on a closed off imaging network in addition which will do PXE booting.
I tried to recreate a new capture thinking the last one might have been mid update but same scenario, we are using recycled images from 23H2 because a brand new windows 11 pro iso fails to join to intune.
11.0.6 root server, the latest OSD server we have running here. Same model device, all models do this but the capture and test deploy are an Elitebook X G2i. Claude suggests this might be due to an Unattended.xml file allowing windows to do updates (which on a freshly deployed machine is at C:Windows\Panther) but when I tried to mount the WIM, I dont see the same unattended.xml file
Anyone know about this issue? is it simply just allowing windows updates to go thru the firewall in this subnet?
