In preparing a bare metal profile, I am seeing an odd behavior where the option to present a prompt to name a host in WinPE does not actually activate but gray out. I’ve included attachments to help illustrate the behavior.
When clicking the check box, though it is grayed out, the sync action still becomes relevant and succeeds with no error. The option remains inactive in WinPE.
Has this been observed elsewhere? Also, Is there an associated tag that can be used in the Manual tab of the wizard as a workaround?
Update: The User Guide has an illustrated example of the option and the check box is on the left-hand side of the text label. In the wizard in this implementation, the check box appears on the right-hand side of the text label.
Prompt End User for Hostname is a feature that has been introduced with MDT bundle 3.2.
If I’m not wrong, this problem occurs when you edit a bare metal profile that uses MDT 3.1, and the enable/disable check of the feature is not working fine, since it should be totally disabled.
Then, during the depoyment, the feature does not work with MDT bundle 3.1, as expected.
Could you please confirm that you observe this behaviour with MDT bundle 3.1? If yes, could you please open a PMR to handle this issue? To use the feature, please create an MDT bundle 3.2 and select it for bare metal profile to deploy.
