Hello BigFix Forums,
After deploying an image (Windows 8.1, with the Win 8.1 MDT Bundle) I keep on receiving ‘This App cannot run on your PC’ (actual text can differ, since the client is Dutch). This message appears when MDT is running action ‘Bare Metal Install BES Client part 2’ I’ve tried different client versions in the Bare Metal profile, but they all return this error.
When I use the MDT bundle for 8.0, this issue does not happen. However, we can’t use the ‘Client Settings’ and ‘Assign Relays’ boxes in the BareMetal profile, the reason that I created a new MDT Bundle.
Anyone who has already had this issue and knows how to fix it?
Hi Alex, If using an imported image, chances are that you are referencing Client Version that is not supported for your image / platform version in the bare metal profile.
Hope this helps
But that should be cleared when I select another client… and that doesnt seem to happen
In order to use Client Settings / Assign Relays feature you need a MDT bundle version 3.7 or later.
I’m not sure what you mean for ‘MDT bundle for 8.0’ that is the case the problem does not occur.
Anyway the only option you have to deploy Windows 8.1 with Client Settings / Assign Relays feature enabled is to generate a MDT Bundle with the following combination:
- MDT Bundle Creator version 3.7 or later
- Windows ADK 8.1 with MDT 2013 or ADK 10 with MDT 2013 Update 1
I suppose that looking the log generated in the failed task sequence may help to clarify the issue. You should look into the BFBareMetalInstallBESClientPart2.log file under Windows\Temp\DeploymentLogs.
If you still have the problem I think the best thing to do next is to contact official support channel to get a proper problem determination.
Thanks Luca
Thanks, the problem is solved now somehow.
I dont know what solved the problem because I removed TMPfOSD and had some trouble reinstalling it. Now that it has been reinstalled, it works with no changes to any BareMetal Profile
