OSD Constantly Failing

Hi All,

We run a few different instances of BigFix across a bunch of our customers. They are all running 9.2.5 at the moment and we have the latest MDT Bundle for Windows 10 created and uploaded to our Root Server, as well as our Relay Servers on the subnets, etc… they are running the latest version of TPMfOSD.

So I am just importing the install.wim file and then dropping it onto workstations, as captures are so painful and barely work, so I thought I would just use the install.wim from the ISO, like I normally do with SCCM.

I upload Build 105x of Windows 10 Enterprise x64 into the Server, no issues. Bound the latest drivers from Dell (OptiPlex 9010) and deploy the image… it fails with this:

[2015/11/26 14:06:15] W (called from run (sequencer.rbc:3817))[2015/11/26 14:06:15] W (called from RAD_CheckForActivity (load.rbc:18890))[2015/11/26 14:06:15] W (called from AgentDispatch (rbagent.rbc:4387))[2015/11/26 14:06:15] W (called from --toplevel-- (rbagent.rbc:4814))[2015/11/26 14:06:15] W Task raised an exception[2015/11/26 14:06:15] W Unknown error [:0] in file actions_builtin.rbc, line 2623[2015/11/26 14:06:15] W Error executing MDT process - Command [wscript.exe X:\Deploy\Scripts\LiteTouch.wsf] failed. I see this error more often than a successful deployment of an image. This error has been with TPMfOSD for the last 10 updates. I am about 5 minutes from logging a ticket with Support, but it will take 2 days to even get anywhere, as they are in Italy and the timezone difference really makes troubleshooting this hard.

This happens regardless of the OS or WinPE version. I have tried WinPE3, 5 and 10. Used 10 to deploy Win7 and Win10… both same error. Different IEM installs too. So it’s not the platform, it’s just something wrong with that damn LiteTouch.wsf file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I lose my mind.

You are likely going to need to file a PMR, even though it is a pain: How to ask for IBM product help: PMRs, RFEs, and more

Thanks for the reply. We ended up raising a PMR and support can confirm there’s an issue with Windows 10 Build 105x when deploying it via BigFix OSD (latest patch). They are working on an update to support deploying the latest (November) build of Windows 10.
