OS Deployment Not "Installed" Correctly

Hey Guys,

I am having an issue with the OS Deployment feature of BigFix that I am hoping you can help me with. I added the masthead for the subscription site a while back when I received it from BF and just recently tasked myself with setting up the OS deployment. I am now attempting to activate the analyses for the OS deployment but they are not there. When I look under Systems Lifecycle there is no subsection for OS Deployment and when I look at the license status for the OS Deployment portion it shows up as:

“Other Sites”

“The following sites are not licensed and not bundled with any products.”

“BigFix OS Deployment for Windows”

I can see the dashboards for the various sections regarding OS Deployment and when I click on any of them I get a message saying: “Problem finding orphan images: Singular expression refers to nonexistent object”

I have tried removing the subscription and then re-adding it and nothing changes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Dan,

I assume that you are using BES 8.0, and can you verify the followings:

  1. Subscribe your Windows computers to “BigFix OS Deployment for Windows” site

  2. Click on the “Show Non-Relevance Content” button (right below the menu on the top-left on the console), so that you can see the analysis.

  3. Check the version of the “BigFix OS Deployment for Windows”, and make it is the latest version (Version 12 is the latest).

The error message indicates that the dashboard is expecting some data from an analysis, but the data is not available.

Hello Dawson,

Yes BES 8.0 and BigFix OS Deployment for Windows is version 12. When I enable “Show Non-Relevant Content” I am still unable to see any analyses for the OS deployment. Aside from the error messages, the fact that the OS Deploy portion is not even listed in the Systems Lifecycle Menu seems to indicate something is not working correctly. Any additional thoughts?

I’ve seen something like this before, it’s the new licensing system; I’m checking with the guys to see if it’s what I suspect.

Hi,

I am configring Bigfix system lifecycle in TEM 8.1 server Evalution version. But I am not able to get the Site for OS deployment in System Lifecycle Domain. Can any body put light on this .

I have also check in Bigfix Managment > License overview. But there is no link for OS deployment 2.0 .

Hi All,

I am using TEM 8.1 and want to deploy OS but I’m not able to see any option of OS deployment under systems lifecycle management.

What option needs to be enabled to make OS deployment option available.

i have a same issue i am using a evolution version of bigfix (TEM) 8.2

and i just want to confirm weather this option is available in evolution version or not ???
