OS Deployment 3.2 for Windows 8 Capture Problem

(imported topic written by swap-techsa)

I am able to capture and deploy the Windows xp and Windows 7 through reimaging from IBM Endpoint Manager Console.

But when i start capturing windows 8 it starts and shows complete in console ,but unable to run BDD utility on Target Machine.

Process followed for Windows xp and Windows 7 is same.

Kindly suggest any configuration change for Windows 8.

I have installed MDT 2013,WADK ,MDT Bundlecreator 2.2.0

Also suggest methods to import image in Image library of IEM Console (except import image which is captured image )

Is it Windows 8.0 or 8.1 ? Version 8.1 will be not supported yet.

Hi,

yes, windows 8.1 is not supported yet.

To create MDT bundle 3.2.20 and its prerequisite software (e.g. MDT 2012 update 1, WADK 8.0…) please look at the following link:

Hi reneschmidt,

I am trying for Windows 8.0 Capture only …through IBM Endpoint Manager console…

when i deploy the fixlet it runs on the client machine “The machine is being reimaged”

but after some time it automatically completes and Windows 8 image is not captuted.

Kindly suggest any configuration change for Windows 8 . because i am able to successfully deploy and capture windows 7 and Windows XP

Hi,

which is the exact MDT bundle version you are using? 3.1.x or 3.2.x? (You can find BundleVersion.txt file in Deploy folder or your MDT bundle)

The machine has a UEFI or a BIOS firmware?

Could you please attach logs in C:\Windows\Temp\DeploymentLogs and C:\MININT?

Thanks.

Hi,

in LTISysprep.log

<![LOG[FAILURE ( 7002 ): Computer is a member of a domain, should be in a workgroup when sysprepping.]LOG]!>

Is it correct?

If yes, could you please remove the computer from the domain before capturing and retry?

Thanks.
