OS compatibility

We are planning on migrating to a new server to run the BES Console and database. I was wondering if there are any known issues running Bigfix on Windows 2003 R2 and SQL2005?

Also, what about Internet Explorer 7? I get a script error error time I open a new windows in the BES Console.

Hey Ernie,

There are no known issues with SQL Server 2005 on Win2003 R2 (or any combination of SQL Server 2000/2005 and Win2000/2003).

I think we have seen a similar issue with IE 7 BETA and we are still looking into it. There might be a simple security setting to fix it.

Ben, just to clarify is SQL 2005 officially supported by BigFix?

Yes SQL 2005 is officially support for BES 6.0 +.

There are no known problems for versions less then BES 6.0 however, I have used 5.1 without problems.

In a development envrionmnet I ran Windows 2003 R2 w/ SQL 2005 and everything work well. I didn’t have a lot of machine to stress but for functionality it was fine.

Does that need to be a full version of SQL Server 2005, or can it be SQL Server Express?
