Options for desired configuration management using bigfix

Hi All,

We have a situation in our environment and have different versions of SOE running on workstations. As such we would like the workstations running the older version of SOE to get updated with the changes/ updates in the newer build releases. My initial plan was to create a baseline for all the changes we are making in the newer build release and apply them on the identified workstations running old SOEs.

Is there a different automated way to handle this with using bigfix wherein the changes can be replicated and we have a standard environment (atleast as much as possible, we can never achieve 100%)

What is an SOE? Can you give an example?

In general, you can create a fixlet/task with relevance to detect if a change is needed and the actionscript to make that change, set it to re-apply, deploy it to all machines, and they will all become standardized as long as the relevance and actionscript is correct. This is the primary way I use BigFix.
