Hey guys, I need some help with a Remote Control issue.
If I set “User consent required” in the target group settings, then when a user locks their computer and leaves, the connection request waits for their approval. How can I make it so that if the computer is locked, I can connect without requiring user consent?
Also, I noticed another issue:
If I connect to a computer and then reboot it, the next time I try to connect, I get an error saying that the session limit has been exceeded. How can I fix this?
Thanks in advance!
Hi iMrSkull,
The user consent can be only bypassed when there is no user logged on and the “Acceptance timeout action” policy is set to “proceed”. If the user is logged on and the screen is locked the user consent is still required to establish a remote session. That’s because an operator may access sensible or unauthorized content without the user consent. Also the operator would need the user credentials in order to unlock the screen which are typically not shared.
About the reboot how do you perform the reboot ? Are you using the Reboot session mode or are you manually performing a reboot ? In the first case you don’t need to close the Controller because this will automatically reconnect after the reboot. In the latter case the Controller session is terminated upon restart and you should be able to reconnect with a new session as soon as the Target is up and running again.
Hello f.pezzotti, thanks for your answer
The fact is that in our organization, devices are rarely turned off, and even more so, users do not leave the current session. At the end of the working day, employees press win+L and go home. But during non-working hours, it happens that Help Desk or administrators make some changes on the device - when connecting, they log in with their administrative account, after they have done the work -Logging out of the system, thereby the user remains in the session until the morning.
And regarding the error in the number of allowed sessions. It may happen that the computer is forced to reboot or something else, this is not excluded. How can I increase the number of allowed sessions to prevent this from happening in the future?
Ok I see your problem but the detection of the lock screen is currently not implemented. The only thing you can do is to open a new RFE on the idea portal and vote for it:

About the number of allowed sessions you can’t do much. Only one session at time is allowed unless collaboration is turned on and you can join an existing session. The error “the session limit has been exceeded” usually means that some other Controller is connected to this Target. I would set “Inactivity timeout” to a value greater than 0 so that after the specified period of inactivity the session is automatically disconnected.
