No Fixlets for Missing Updates

Hi,

Might not be a major issue but need to understand why certain patches/updates are not showing as fixlets?

970653 Update for Windows Server 2008 (KB970653) - XP and 2003 version are showing as downloaded fixlets but none for Windows 2008. Showing as “970653: Aug 2009 Cumulative Time Zone Update - Windows 2003 SP2” for 2003 but nothing for 2008 even thought windows update reports it missing.

Windows Malicious Removal Tool (MRT) is showing it needs to run on the server using Windows Update but when trying to deploy it or run the tool the server reports Not Relavant.

WSUS Updates, i.e. Service Packs where are these reported?? not so important.

Hi Lee,

I asked our Fixlet team and they for the KB970653, have you seen the Fixlet “970653: Aug. 2009 Cumulative Time Zone Update - Windows Server 2008 Gold/SP2”? They just ran a quick test and it seemed that things were working well… If you continue to have an issue here, can you contact support?

For the MRT Fixlets, they hadn’t yet updated the Fixlets to run on Win2008, but they will add that shortly.

Cheers Ben have checked again the fixlet is there but is being seen as Not Relevant to that server.

I have manually installed the patch for now as we nned to get our reports out.
