No clients in console, even the agent deploy is succesful, evaluation version

(imported topic written by RicardoResina)

Hi there.

We’re experimenting with a evaluation license of TEM v9, and we can deploy the client agents in windows 7 ok, but the console can’t view any of them. Does anybody knows what can be happened? We shutted down the windows firewall yet.

Thank you in advance.

What messages are found in the client logs?

They are found here:

(32bit system) “C:\Program Files\BigFix Enterprise\BES Client__BESData__Global\Logs”

(64bit system) “C:\Program Files(x86)\BigFix Enterprise\BES Client__BESData__Global\Logs”

Hi there.

That’s true, we have configurated the server with 2 ethernets. 1 is for the internet server’s access, the other is a internal domine. When we install the server it has only the internet’s configured, so, the clients are configured to try to reach that net, instead of the internal net that they should, we have implemented a workaround that consist in configure the TEM server as a router too, and the clients reach the net they are configured to. Next step configure the server again to deploy client agents with the correct configuration, and deinstall / deploy again the client agents.

Thanks so much for the quick and certain answer.

My bet would be that the clients can’t reach the server somehow. On those win7 clients can you ping the server? Or maybe you need to edit something in the hosts file.
