How come when you use the wizard “BigFix Asset Discovory Nmap Scan Wizard”, you can choose to take the action immediatley, however the action can be deployed to any client. Would it not make sense to only be able to deploy the action to clients that are nmap scan points?

Yep… I know it seems strange, except there is a good reason for it…
If the action is based on a Fixlet, then the console knows which computers to show in the Take Action Dialog (whichever computers are relevant for the Fixlet)… But if you just take an action, then it is just like if you take a “Custom Action” and all computers are possible targets…
What we really need to do is allow the NMAP Wizard to “guess” at which computers are needed (for instance by looking at which computers have scan points) and feed that information to the Take Action Dialog… I think the Wizard authors have already requested this and hopefully it will come in a future version of BigFix.

Thanks Ben. That makes sense, but yes, it would be nice if the wizard could look at which clients are scan points and then allow the action to be pushed to them. I guess I would like to recommend that as a request if it hasn’t been done already.
