(imported topic written by ktm_200091)

HOTFIX: A handle leak occurs after you install hotfix 925104 or Windows Server 2003 SP2 - Windows Server 2003 SP2

showed up relevant on some servers today, did big fix modify some content today?

Are we supposed to get emails when content is changed?

Hello,

These two KB 938135 Fixlet messages are brand new, released on 1/20/2011.

We send an email through the BigFix-announcements mailing list when new Fixlets are released in the Patches for Windows (English) site. This is separate from the Besadmin-announcements mailing list.

You can subscribe to the former at http://bigmail.bigfix.com/mailman/listinfo/bigfix-announcements

Hi Jeremy,

The source release date is recorded as 10/26/2007, Can you please have that updated so my management doesn’t think I’ve missed deploying a patch for almost 2.5 years

Well, the source release date is meant to reflect with the publisher (Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, etc.) first published the content. We do have an identifier in each fixlet that indicates when BigFix first published the content (x-fixlet-first-propagation).

Ben posted a report

here

that lets you see those two dates plus a third (the date that represents the last time we modified the fixlet).
