Sorry if this is a duplicate, I looked but didn’t see it mentioned in this forum.

We’d like to see expanded coverage of Windows content to include all the items from the Microsft Update / Windows Update sites.

"That is true, they are stability/reliability updates (which could be construed as “security” to some CIO’s). They are pushed by windowsupdates, so when our IT folks see there are more patches on windowsupdates that BigFix isn’t providing, they wonder if BigFix is missing updates. They are upset that they still need to use two tools to update the Windows systems. They would prefer these few stability updates on windowsupdate.microsoft.com are also provided by BigFix as fixlets.

I agree 100%. The thought was that this product would replace Shavlik HFnetcheck. I just don’t understand how a patching product could not include MSWU patches.

I agree. In order for BigFix to properly flll the patching needs for an organization, it needs to include all patches in MS Windows Update at a minimum.

Perhaps if BigFix decides to release these non-critical/optional updates for customers, they could append the phrase “NON-SECURITY” or “OPTIONAL” at the end of the fixlet name (similar to how they tag fixlets as CORRUPT at the end), to indicate to customers quickly that the fixlet is non-critical in nature.

I agree. Non-security updates needs to be pushed by BF if Microsoft pushes them.

However, on the flip side, Microsoft pushes driver updates though Windows Updates and we don’t expect BigFix to do the same…

Maybe that is another feature request. Driver updates.
