Microsoft Security Hotfixes only available in 'Rollup' format from October 2016

I have been reading this: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/windowsitpro/2016/08/15/further-simplifying-servicing-model-for-windows-7-and-windows-8-1/

The gist appears to be that individual security hotfixes will not be issued from October onwards and also that the size of the rollup will grow and grow.

Does this give anyone else a strong feeling of unease? Most months one or more of the hotfixes is re-released, which will effectively mean that they are all re-released. It will also give us severe headaches in cases such as MS16-087 & MS16-072 where we delayed the deployment of selected updates until we were certain they would not cause problems - we will no longer be able to apply the majority of patches quickly and just delay the potentially problematic hotfixes.

I also note that Microsoft encourages the use of rollups by not providing the individual fixes.

I just heard about this yesterday. The title says Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, but the article further mentions that this will affect Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 as well.

There will be 2 “flavors” of bundles. The first is the Security Patch bundle that would contain just the security patches for that month, and the other is the Security Patch and Reliability Patch bundle, which would be a rollup, or cumulative bundle.

Concerns:
Machines with low disk space.
Networks that would be adversely impacted by larger file transfers.
And the concern about not being able to pick and choose which patches can be applied quickly, and which patches that can be delayed due to concerns about adverse effects.

Thanks,
