The action script below was created by the Windows Software Distribution Wizard. The action goes to a completed state but does not show that the KB946974 patch has been installed on the targeted machine. Can you say by looking at the script below why this does not work.

Action Script:

download http://199.242.232.66:52311/Uploads/b82f80434a75e3e6854ef255bdcde5ead148aaa9/big1B6.tmp continue if { (size of it = 10717567 and sha1 of it = “b82f80434a75e3e6854ef255bdcde5ead148aaa9”) of file “big1B6.tmp” of folder “__Download”} extract big1B6.tmp wait __Download\excel2007-kb946974-fullfile-x86-glb.exe /Q:A /R:N run “{pathname of client folder of site “BESSupport” & “\RunQuiet.exe”}” “{pathname of client folder of site “BESSupport” & “\qchain.exe”}”

Hey igziabeher,

The actionscript looks good… If the results say “Completed”, it means that the patch executed properly, but it doesn’t mean the patch ran successfully… for instance, this looks to be an Office patch so it might have failed if it can’t access the Office local or network source…

But this looks to be MS08-014… why are you using the software distribution wizard instead of the provided Fixlets for this patch?

Ben
