Where is the location of the masthead file on a client for windows and MAC? I need to validate a static file for VPN clients that run Bigfix. Any suggestions?

For Windows, you can look here:
http://support.bigfix.com/cgi-bin/kbdirect.pl?id=52
For Unix/Linux/Mac, you can see where the masthead is placed in the install instructions:

How do I go about finding the checksum?

Can you explain a bit more about what you are looking to do?
Thanks,

We’re trying to make sure when VPN users authenticate to our network, they have to pass certain conditions. One of the conditions must have Bigfix and the masthead file is registered to us. Security is looking to validate the file via a checksum. I’m wondering how do I go about finding that.

I think you’ll have to add a binary to gather the checksum, such as sha1.exe (http://support.bigfix.com/fixlet/) or md5sum.exe… the details of which checksum they want and how to produce it will probably come from the VPN vendor.
