Is there a way to find out what actions/fixlets have been applied today?

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hello,

I’m quite new to BigFix, and am now exploring its features on 250 test computers

Today morning I’ve come into my office and got called about 4 POSes, which suddenly changed their time. It’s fine - a fix has been applied this night. But what’s not that good is that it was a surprise for me.

So, the question is: how can I find a list of fixlets which were actually applied in a certain period of time? Web reports? Console?

Thanks in advance!

Best,

Dmitry

Hi Dmitry,

There are a couple of ways to get this data:

  • If you are on the computer itself, the BigFix logs folder __BESData__Global\Logs will tell you everything that happened on that computer.
  • If you are looking at the console (or web reports), you can look at the “action” list fort he computer and double-click on the computer in the action results list to see what time an action started (it will give the start and end time of execution).

Unfortunately, there isn’t a great way in the console to list the action start/stop times in a big list to sort through (which is discussed here: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=406456)

Hope that helps,

Ben
