Is the big fix agent is different for client machines and servers.its urgent
No.
Windows Agent runs on Window. Mac Agent runs on OS X. There is no difference between Server and Non-Server OS’s.
Win 7, Win 8, Win 10, WinServer 2008, WinServer 2012, WinServer 2016 all use the same Agent.
To add to that, the version of the agent can vary throughout your deployment. For instance it’s ok to have a version 8 client in a BigFix 9.5 deployment. Some older OSes do not have the most current BigFix agents available, but they’ll keep working in a newer deployment.
Sometimes IBM will release an agent update for only one type of OS. So then you could have relay/agent and agent/agent differences.
But that is few and far between.
Just to be specific a v8 client isn’t under support in a 9.5 deployment. It may work but its out of support
Thanks, Alan, I wasn’t aware of that. I still have a number of RHEL 4 clients that apparently can’t go above an 8.2 client. Otherwise they still do seem to be working in the 9.5.4 deployment.
