Is anyone have issues while deploying Internet Explorer 11 Prerequisites for Windows 7 sp1 through BigFix? The action history is returning a status of “complete” but I have multiple devices missing the patches that BigFix shows completed. I am unable to locate several of the patches in the “Patches for Windows” external site. Is there a known IBM issue with the relevance of this package. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Dear Viakenan,
Some of the KBs in the IE 11 prerequisite list may have been superseded. Please contact IBM support to open a PMR and provide more details about your concerns so that we can work on it further.
Thanks,
Sylvia
Hi Viakenan,
Have you reached out to IBM support for this issue?
Regards,
Sylvia
For the patches that you cannot locate, check in the console to see whether you have “Show Non-Relevant Content” selected. If this option is not selected, a Fixlet will not be visible if there are no relevant computers for the Fixlet.
For the “multiple devices missing the patches that BigFix shows completed” - how are you seeing that the devices are missing the patches?
-
Are they still Relevant for the fixlets in BigFix? The Action may have failed, or it may take the client longer to report that it is no longer Relevant for the fixlet.
-
Are the patches still showing as available via Windows Update? There may be a mismatch between the detection methods used by Windows Update vs what BigFix is using in the Fixlet. If that’s the case, list the specific KB updates that appear incorrect.

Does the Action show completed, the Fixlet no longer relevant, but some expected patches are not shown in the “Programs and Features” control panel? It could be that some of the patches in the prerequisites have been superseded by later patches, and you don’t actually need the older versions anymore.
