Installing BigFix Compliance

I’m very new to BigFix and my company just purchased BigFix Compliance. I’m following the setup guide to install BigFix compliance at word.

In the guide it requires me to add the SCA reporting Masthead and to install compliance 1.9 for the first time.

The issue is that I’m lost to where I can find them. Can somebody point out from where I can download compliance 1.9 and get the Masthead?

Assuming you have a BigFix server?
Then if so I would go to the license overview dashboard and review what you are entitled to. In the console navigate to All content --> Dashboards --> All Dashboards --> License overview. You should see a listing for Compliance, under that you should see a site that says compliance reporting of SCM reporting. Enable and subscribe the computer you wish to install compliance on to that.

If you do not see the ability to enable SCM reporting, then that will allow us to discuss your organizations BigFix licensing center account located by clicking through here: https://www-01.ibm.com/software/sysmgmt/products/support/TivoliEndpointManager_Licensing.html.

Let me know what you see!

Bringing this thread back to life, but I just wanted to ask for some clarity.

Right now SCM Reporting won’t allow me to change the computer relevancy. As in it’s greyed out even while I’m logged in as the initial setup account. Is this a licensing issue? I let it sit overnight just in case it needed to load because I know it took a second for the BigFix Compliance to let me set relevancy, but still nothing. I can even navigate to the site in a web browser so it’s not a firewall issue.

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • are you logged in as a Master Operator account?
  • has the site gathered on your server (check site version number)?
  • does your environment use a proxy server? Is that configured on the bes root server?
  • are site gathers failing (if so, try switching to gather over https, reply back for details if that’s the case)

-I am logged in as a Master Operator
-The site hasn’t gathered on my server. It still shows as version 0.
-No proxy server
-This is the only site that’s failing.

I checked the gatherdb.log and it was failing there, so I’m guessing it’s something firewall related?

Often it is firewall, proxy server, IDS, or your internet provider modifying the HTTP content (either to secure your system or to insert their own advertising). There have been a lot of recent reports of trouble with HTTP gathers in this forum. The most common solution has been to configure your BES server to perform gathers over HTTPS. Instructions are at https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSQL82_9.5.0/com.ibm.bigfix.doc/Platform/Config/c_https_gathering.html
