IEM Console

(imported topic written by RadimNavratil)

Hello dears,

Is there any

way how to connect

to one IEM console to more

IEM

servers

in other domains
?

I have

IEM

in my company and

also at the customers

(they have a

distinct domains

example:

in my case

the

IEM

server

at

iem.firm1.com

and
at the
customers
has
iem.firma2.com,

each have

their licenses

and keys
)
.

Thanks for your

advice

I think this should be possible. Unless iem.firma1 and iem.firma2 have wildly different IEM versions (like the console is version 7 which links to iem.firm1.com but iem.firm2.com is on version 9), as long as both iem.firm1.com and iem.firm2.com are reachable from where the console is installed.

Or is your question more can I see both stuff on iem.firm1.com and iem.firm2.com in the same console even though they’re basically different deployments?

Thank you very much

for your answer.

I was thinking rather

your

second part.

I have two

different

installation

IEM
,

but

the same version

9
, but

are

on different IEM

servers.

Thus, as shown in Figure - to be able to click on the item Server to another server (two different serveres):

Hmmm, isn’t that list populated based off of whether you’ve logged to that particular IEM server before? So if you just hit the drop down menu, type in the address (or IP or whatever), then throw in your credentials, you’d see another server available… sort of like the screenshot I’ve attached.

Yeah,

but I

just

do

not

write
somethink to
item
S
erver (
or

via the drop down

menu)

You just type it in

I am not sure if you were asking if you could see both deployments at the same time in the console. If that was your question, then no, that cannot be done. I am pretty sure that you can do that with the web reports though and I seem to recall someone on this forum did ask about it at one time. I think this is the one

Hello Martin,

thank you for your answer, but I don’t type in - only choose one IEM server.

I installed IEM console from first IEM server with two files - setup.exe and actionsite.afxm

and now I
have no chance to choose field Server (or type the now one IEM server).

Any consil?

Radim,

I think what they are telling you is …

  1. Open the console
  2. It should be showing your original server name.
  3. replace the servers address with the second server address.
  4. provide credentials for the second server.
  5. Let the console load.

The next time you start the console on that machine, the drop down should show you BOTH servers.

Thank all - I tried and …
everything works
