IEM client migrating to a new server

Hi,

We have legacy 8.2 TEM setup. We have installed new IEM 9 on a different server. We would like the clients to be reporting to the new IEM server.

My plan is to have a fixlet in TEM 8.2 , which changes the masthead file as well as changes the RelayServer1 setting to null , then restart. So the earlier agent version will start reporting to IEM 9. Then with agent upgrade fixlet on IEM 9, I can upgrade that agent. Is this a good approach? Any other suggestion?

Will it be okay, just changing the masthead file alone, with out removing any of the older subscription files or anything?

You should already have a “Switch Masthead” task in your BES Support site. Check the download path in the task, and you can put a copy of your new Masthead in the appropriate location so that the task will be able to download it.

I’ve used the tasks to switch clients between implementations (Test/Production).
