IE 9 installed - MS11-050 is not relevant

Hi

i upgraded a couple of my machines with IE 9 using the fixlet on Bigfix. However if I run the MBSA report over the server afterwards it is reporting that the patch:

Microsoft Security Bulletin MS11-050 - Critical

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (2530548)

Checked Bigfix and this says the patch is not releavant. windows Update also reports this patch missing. Which is correct?

According to Microsoft,

MS11-057

replaced all

MS11-050

in terms of IE9 updates. If you have installed MS11-057 via BigFix, this is why MS11-050 doesn’t show up in BigFix.

I’m not entirely sure why MBSA is reporting you need MS11-050 if you have MS11-057, but in theory, even if you apply MS11-050, it won’t do anything because the same filesets are already at a newer version thanks to MS11-057.
