Identify Computers on Public Clouds

Hi BigFixers !

I applied task "Identify Computers on Public Clouds on a BigFix Client to specify the machine in on “Google Compute Engine”. Result is ok, and I can see it reported in analysis “Identified Public Cloud Computers”.

I ran multiple imports in IBM License Metric Server, all successfull, but report “IBM Capacity Data Completeness
” still reports “No VM Manager Data” for this machine.

My understanding (according to this document) was that, once a machine has been identified on a Public Cloud, it would not appear in this “No VM Manager Data”.

I running BigFix 9.5.8.38 and ILMT 9.2.10.1-20180108-1721, with catalog version2018-01-11.

Anyone having same issue? Or maybe my understanding is wrong?

Thanks for your help !

Arnaud

Hi,

After the change it is needed to make a new capacity scan and import data.
You can wait or manually trigger scan and import.

Hi Andrzej,

Capacity scan ran and data was imported. I looked at result file in BES Server UploadManagerData folder, everything looks good:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> Google Google Compute Engine GoogleCloud-10A8C97C2D17118A494F42FEB1BFFA84 Compute Engine Public Cloud 1 Google Compute Engine Public Cloud All Existing Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU @ 2.60GHz 2 Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter English (United States) version Windows 2012 x86_64 1.000000 2.000000 1.000000 1.000000 -1.000000 -1.000000 2.000000 2.000000 KVM

On the ILMT server, this values seems to have been imported, but still the status says “No VM Manager Data”:

No idea why…
