IBM BigFix Patch is pleased to announce the release of audit Fixlets to help system administrators and support in troubleshooting patch issues that are related to missing prerequisites. These audit Fixlets indicate whether any of the required utility packages, such as zypper, gzip, or bc, are missing and must be installed on the endpoints to deploy BigFix content.
These compression utilities are necessary to use the content from the Patches for SLE 11 Native Tools and Patches for SLE 12 Native Tools sites. Ensuring that the required compression utilities are installed on the endpoints even before deploying Fixlets can save users time from troubleshooting patching issues.
New Fixlets:
TROUBLESHOOTING: Package ‘zypper’ not installed (ID #1)
TROUBLESHOOTING: Package ‘gzip’ not installed (ID #2)
TROUBLESHOOTING: Package ‘bc’ not installed (ID #3)
