How to handle multiple reboots for Microsoft patches

We are applying a large baseline with Microsoft patches which could or will require multiple reboots. What is the best way of handling this because I know patches can become corrupt or not install if I reboot does not occur before they are installed. Just curious how current users are handling this.

You can install all the updates and then reboot the machine. What happens is that the update is installed but not in use, the OS save in memory the actual code and until you reboot it the new code will be used.

If a patch requires a reboot before installation, that will be included in the relevance.

When the computer requires a reboot after patching it will be marked as needing a restart.

Generally youd use a maintenance window and a reboot fixlet that allows the server to reboot however many times it needs to during the window.

The fixlet would be the “restart needed” fixlet in the bes support site.
