Having trouble with identifying aspects of the OS version

(imported topic written by mauricev91)

If I query Mac 10.5 with

release of operating system as version

I get back .

This seems odd as the Power Profile wizard contains something similar.

Second, if I query a Mac 10.5 or Windows XP/Vista with the following logical OR query

(name of operating system = "Mac OS X" AND minor revision of system version >= 4) OR (name of operating system = "Win2000" AND csd version of operating system = "Service Pack 4")

I get back . However, each portion of the boolean expression works properly on its respective OS.

‘csd version’ is not a property of type for Macs:

Q: csd version of operating system

E: The operator “csd version” is not defined.

And ‘minor revision’ is not a property of type for Windows:

Q: minor revision of operating system

E: The operator “minor revision” is not defined.

You need to guard your expression with an if statement. See comment #3 here: http://forum.bigfix.com/viewtopic.php?id=2074
