Hardware Inventory Management

So I have some questions about the inventory management aspect of bigfix. We currently only use it for patch management but would like to look at it for our inventory.

Basically we wanna know is how does it handle routers, switches, printers etc? Also if anyone knows how it would handle a wyse thin client with a virtual windows 7 on top of it.

Without the ability to install an Agent, IEM can’t gather direct information.

The Unmanaged Assett feature uses NMAP to scan to devices that don’t have the IEM Agent installed. NMAP tries to “guess” what the device is based on it responses to queries.
