Forwardbufferdir Filling Up on Relays

(imported topic written by MBARTOSH)

We are running IEM 8.2.1409.0 in a Windows environment, and we are currently having a problem with some of our relays where the forwardingbufferdir is filling up with the maximum number of files. We can copy the files to the server bufferdir and they get processed. So, we know the files are not bad. For some reason, once the forwardingbufferdir fills up, it stops reporting and all clients reporting to it stop reporting. Simply, restarting the relay service and client service does not resolve the problem. The files in the forwardingbufferdir have to the deleted and the services stopped and started.

Hi MBARTOSH,

I assume that you can control its number of files and size of the folder with following instruction.

Deployment Health Checks dashboard. “FillDB Bufferdir File Counts” - Failed

Thanks,

Toshiki

Ok couple questions

  1. how many clients are reporting to this relay? how many on the TEM server?

  2. is there anything in the logfile.txt file (should be in the BES Relay folder)?

  3. does it ever work or is it working at times and failing other times?

  4. Is the TEM Server’s bufferdir full?
