There is a wrong sha1 for 1091163 Flash Player 12.0.0.77 Available - Internet Explorer.

Error processing completed download: Requested SHA1 a410637349ab43ae08e33466da67fff76a6934ed does not match actual SHA1 b00f2e77841e9537e20f6bda9b4c46efa573adf1

Hi Scott,

The SHA1 value looks OK to me.

Link:
http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_12_active_x.exe

SHA1: a410637349ab43ae08e33466da67fff76a6934ed

Size: 17293704

SHA2: 15bd5ae1b00c374e88c62e56d5cbcf317e719413e590575f464a8c5d8c54bb4a

File version: 12.0.0.77

(Data valid as of 13 Mar 2014, Flash Player version 12.0.0.77)

The SHA1 value
b00f2e77841e9537e20f6bda9b4c46efa573adf1 you are getting is actually for the previous version of Flash Player 12.0.0.70. When Flash Player is upgraded, usually the URL is not changed. Kindly verify that you are downloading the file directly from Adobe website instead of getting it from cache etc.

My download is coming directly from Adobe’s website.

So is it possible that the link from Adobe that is in the Flash fixlets has not been updated to the newest version of flash yet? I see that the fixlets always use the same download link:
http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_12_active_x.exe

It is still 12.0.0.70…is that just me or do you see it too?

Thanks,

Scott

Proxy server error on our side…please disregard.

Thanks,

Scott

(imported comment written by sdemonte)

Well its not our proxy, it appears to be out internet provider caching files. We only get the older file (.70) when downloading that link instead of the new file (.77). Has this occurred before to anyone? Since the file name never changes this has to have happened before? We are going to try some other internet providers and then manually cache the file on the BES server if we can download the (.77) file.

Thanks

Scott

We have tried two separate internet providers…charter and cox. Both are only downloading the older file (.70). Has adobe pulled the new file? Does anyone have this fixlet working?

We are having the same issue… 70 instead of 77. Frontier is our ISP.

Hi Scott, Terry,

This issue you are facing appears to be outside of IEM’s scope. The suggestions provided below are my
personal
ideas.

While the issue could be caused by ISP implementing some caching, it could also be Adobe failing to update some of their CDN’s content.

On my machine located in Singapore, ping download.macromedia.com returns the following:

Pinging e891.p.akamaiedge.net [173.222.19.191] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 173.222.19.191: bytes=32 time=63ms TTL=45

So their CDN appears to be Akamai Technologies. I am getting the latest file downloaded from the IP shown above. You might want to ask in
Adobe forum
and provide the CDN’s IP from
your ping result
(which should be different from mine, and the content of it was not updated).

Hope the above helps.
