Filter Web Reports Dashboard

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Is there a way to apply a filter to the web reports dashboard and not loose the Total Issues and Total Number of Computers charts? Hopefully the charts would reflect the Total Issues and Total Number of Computers that the filters applied to. The goal here is to filter on Windows / OSX and Application Fixlets while excluding all the rest.

Hey jspanitz,

You are talking about the “Overall” page?

The answer is unfortunately no. The reason for this is that those graphs are generated by periodically recording the total numbers, but the underlying data that generates the data is not snapshotted (because it would get very big very fast). So all the web reports knows is the history of the totals and it doesn’t know what percentage of the issues were OSX/Windows (or whatever) in the past.

humpfh. Can we add that to the wish list!?! A custom report maybe? My web reports skills = 0.

The problem is fundamentally based on the web reports architecture because it doesn’t like to store lots of historical data for arbitrary filtering… The DSS reporting layer will eventually take this over and provide this functionality, but it will be a bit of time before that happens…
