February patches not showing on BigFix

Hi!

In my company we deploy the Microsoft Security Patches month by month, but for some reason in this month there are no new patches on the Patches for Windows Site.

Never happened before, is there anything I could check?

What version of the “Patches for Windows” site do you have? Should be 4151 (or higher if an update is released).

Look at the log for the gather service - …\BES Server\GatherDBData\GatherDB.log - for errors

Thanks! Seems like the service was not logging since 01/02/2023. I’ve just restarted it, let’s see if it works

Do you know anything I could check?

Have you tried doing an explicit gather on some external sites?

Check your license (in the console, logged on as a Master operator, go to Bigfix Management, License Overview)

You might then need to run the BESAdmin tool on the server to propagate any changes.

If that doesn’t work, I think you need to raise a ticket with HCL to get proper diags and troubleshooting.

The license shows “Expired”

I ran the BESAdmin tool but it just opened and did not propagated any changes.

How can I do an explicit gather on an external site?

In the console, go to “Sites”, select the “Patches for windows” site then hit the “Gather” button. From then you can review your gatherdb.log for activity.

I suspect if your licnese has expired you will not be able to obtain updated site content and you will need to open a case with HCL.

@DanPaquette or a call to License Support can put you on the right track to renewing your license.

I believe this to be an issue with a truly expired license. I will send Gabriel a PM.
